The Channel Bridge – The 1990s megastructure that prevented the split
In the late 1980s and early 1990s, tensions between the United Kingdom and Ireland were at an all-time high. With the prospect of a unified Europe on the horizon, many feared that the historical animosity between the two nations would lead to a permanent divide.
